For Kyle..

Kyle was the brother of my ex-partners best friend and someone I didn't expect to love and care for as much as I did. He became a great friend.

Kyle had an enthusiasm for his passions like I had never seen. He was a fierce competitor and gave his all to his karate tournaments and training. His karate family loved him like the little brother that he was to all of us.

I remember days lying in the sun in the backyard or down at Lysterfield Park, having deeper conversations than I ever expected, mucking around with your brother and my ex-partner being the goofs that we were and loving every moment of it.

I remember the first time you gave me a rib crushing hug and told me you loved me and was happy that I was around. You gave the best hugs, nothing will ever compare.

Kyle, your smile would light up a room, you brought so much joy and love to the people’s lives who were lucky enough to have you in it.

It has been 6 years now and I still think of you daily.

Forever in our hearts, forever in our minds, we miss you Kyle.

Tragically, every year over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by suicide.

Lifeline receives over 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year.

Suicide has devastating impact on friends and loved ones.

For World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept 10), I will be taking part in Out of the Shadows and walking for the 9 people lost to suicide every day.

I'm walking to raise funds for Lifeline to provide suicide prevention services and support for Australians in need.
