I'm walking to acknowledge my own mental health experience and to remember those lost to suicide
For World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept 10), I will be taking part in Out of the Shadows and walking for the 9 people lost to suicide every day. I'm walking to raise funds for Lifeline to provide suicide prevention services and support for Australians in need.
As someone who has personally struggled with mental health, I understand the importance of accessible support services and the impact that organizations like Lifeline have on saving lives.
By walking alongside my husband, I'm not only showing my support for his efforts but also acknowledging the journey we've shared and honouring the loved ones we have tragically lost to Suicide.Â
Together, we're committed to helping create a safety net for those struggling, and every step I take brings us closer to a future where help is always within reach. We hope to encourage others to speak openly about their mental health, seek help when needed, and know that they are never alone in their fight for a brighter tomorrow.
