You left this world too soon my love. You live on in my heart everyday.
I'm walking to remember my beautiful partner Tamanui who lost her battle with her mental health.
Tamanui is very loved and dearly missed. Unfortunately, she lost her battle with mental health, we are walking to remember the beautiful person she was and to help other people who may be in a similar situation.
Tamanui is proudly from the Ngāriki Kaipūtahi Iwi from Mangatu, Aotearoa. Although her loss has caused immense mamae, Tamanui is now at peace and is with her tīpuna. Each and every day she is greatly missed.
Tragically, every year over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by suicide.
Lifeline receives over 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year.
Suicide has devastating impact on friends and loved ones.
For World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept 10), I will be taking part in Out of the Shadows and walking for the 9 people lost to suicide every day.
I'm walking to raise funds for Lifeline to provide suicide prevention services and support for Australians in need.
