I'm walking to remember those lost to suicide and help people in crisis
This walk is especially personal for me. We lost Senja to suicide, which is the second loved one I've lost this way. I never thought I'd understand the depth of the pain suicide leaves behind. It's a constant presence, but through the grief and anger, we hold onto the memories of the people we love.
Tragically, every year over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by suicide.
Lifeline receives over 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year. Suicide has a devastating impact on friends and loved ones. We've all felt it.
For World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept 10), We will be taking part in Out of the Shadows and walking 20km for the 9 people lost to suicide every day.
We are walking to raise funds for Lifeline. They provide critical suicide prevention services and support for Australians in need. Together, we can ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.
Please support our walk and sponsor us to help those in crisis.
If you are struggling, please know you are not alone. Help is available. Speak with someone today by calling 13 11 14 or visiting lifeline.org.au. Lifeline is available 24 hours a day.
My impact so far
I've raised $41 so far to answer 1 call for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.
With your support, we can ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.
