Our team is walking to remember Georgie who is a youngest daughter and youngest sister and for all those lost to suicide and to help people in crisis
Our grief is still very raw as it has only been 5 months since we lost Georgie to suicide. My 3 daughters and I (Georgie's mum) will be walking together in grief and remembrance to honour Georgie's memory.
This powerful day of global observance brings together over 60 countries, uniting us in our shared mission to promote stigma reduction, advocate for policy change, encourage help seeking, and honour the memories of those lost to suicide, those who have survived suicide attempts, and those who bear the weight of grief.
We hope that our efforts can help other mothers and sisters to avoid the loss and pain that we are experiencing.
Tragically, every year over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life and over 3,000 Australians die by suicide.
Lifeline receives over 1 million contacts from people in crisis each year.
Suicide has devastating impact on friends and loved ones.
For World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept 10), we will be taking part in Out of the Shadows and walking for the 9 people lost to suicide every day.
We are walking to raise funds for Lifeline to provide suicide prevention services and support Aussies in need.
Please support our walk and make a donation to help those in crisis.
Together we can ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.
Our impact so far
We've raised $2,554 so far to answer 65 calls for Lifeline's crisis support hotline to connect and bring hope to people in crisis.
With your support, we can ensure that no person has to face their darkest moments alone.

I was shocked to hear about what happened, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help support you all in a small way. I just wish I had more to offer. It's been quite a while since I last saw Paris and Tayla, but I just want to offer my condolences, and I hope that you all are doing OK.

Sending so much love to you and all the other Watsons today and all days. Grief is a wild beast but you're doing a good thing with it (though I know most days that doesn't help tame it at all). Hope the walk was meditative and surrounded by good people. (Sorry for the late donation!)
